The main objectives of the Business Information Centre:

• Helping new businesses to set up;
• Expanding the activities of existing entrepreneurial businesses;

• To help establish international cooperation contacts with entrepreneurs in other countries.

The main objective of the Utena Business Information Centre is: to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship and to provide information, consultation, training services and practical assistance to small and medium-sized enterprises located in the territory of the municipality of Utena district.

Public Enterprise Utena Business Information Centre has implemented a project aimed at renovating the building located at Bažnyčios str. 1, Utena, 360 sqm. reconstruction of the 60-metre premises into a modern conference hall, which will house the Utena Business Information Centre.

EU Structural Funds support has enabled the restoration of one of the most dilapidated buildings on the corner of Utena Square, and the installation of a modern conference hall with interpreter’s booths, which is necessary for Utena and meets EU standards.

• Project “Entrepreneurship Promotion Programme of Utena District 2015” EUR 40 000,00 under the measure (02) of the Operational Programme for the Promotion of the Economy and Development of Tourism. Project duration 2015-01-01 to 2015-12-31. The project is funded by the Utena District Municipality Administration.
• 2015 m. Public Enterprise Utena Business Information Centre implemented the EU SF Measure “Assistant-2” project “Development of the infrastructure of the Business Information Centre of Utena, adapting the cinema “Taurapilis” to the needs of creative industries and business”. The project manager is Irina Šeršniova, Director of the Utena Business Information Centre. The aim of the project is to create favourable conditions for the representatives of creative industries in Utena to set up SMEs, expand them and increase their viability. The total value of the project is €3,462,557. The Taurapilis Centre for Creative Industries has 17 studios where representatives of the creative industries and the arts are currently in residence: film art, textiles, photography, audio art and sound recording, dance and choreography. Since 2015. The new creative industries centre Taurapilis, which opened in October, is already hosting events, exhibitions, concerts and other artistic activities. All 17 studios are expected to fill their creative spaces during 2016-2017.
• 2015 m. Public Enterprise Utena Business Information Centre together with its partners Business Centres Association, Lithuanian Business Innovation Centre, Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists and business centres of the Utena region implemented the project “Assistant-4” “Recipes for Successful Business “InoVerslas” – Utena Region”. The project value is EUR 321 800. The project provided high quality advice to companies on the following topics: – business regulation (starting a business without creating a legal entity, establishing a legal entity, tax system, labour law, permits and licences, public procurement, etc.); – internal management of a legal entity (management, project management, quality management, human resources, financial management, etc.Other practical and advisory assistance to businesses (assistance in the preparation and updating of business plans, monitoring the implementation of business plans, organisation and development of advertising, etc.). The project provided services to 110 legal entities with 3092 hours and to 47 natural persons planning to start a business with 200 hours of various business start-up advice.
• 2015 m. The Utena Business Information Centre together with partners from Germany, Hungary, Italy, the United Kingdom and Spain implemented an international project: the Leonardo da Vinci Partnerships Project “New Job-Opportunities for unemployed people in rural areas in thematic trails like culture, greenways and nutrition/food . The project is worth €20 000. The project was funded by the Education Exchange Support Fund. The EU Partnership Project has organised seven partner meetings in all partner countries. • Project “Entrepreneurship Promotion Programme of Utena District 2016” EUR 51 000,00 under Measure 02 of the Economic Promotion and Tourism Development Action Programme. Project duration 2016-01-01 to 2016-12-31. The project is funded by the Utena District Municipality Administration.

• Project “Improving the quality of services and personal services in Utena District Municipality, Phase I“. The value of the project is EUR 116 373.51. Duration 2018-03-26 – 2020-02-20. The project is funded by the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania. Project partner – Utena District Municipality Administration. The target group of the project is the staff of the Utena District Municipality Administration, Utena Business Information Centre and Utena Tourism Information Centre. The indirect beneficiaries of the project are the residents and tourists of Utena district municipality. The project aimed to improve the quality of consultancy and information services provided in the municipality of Utena district, and provided for the analysis, evaluation, process and monitoring improvement of the planning, organisation and delivery of public services for business and tourism. It will also strengthen the competences of municipal public administration staff to improve the quality of services and the quality of customer care.
• Project “LLI 384 The Business Of Future“. The project value is EUR 141 227,59. Duration 2018-05-01 – 2020-04-30. The project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The project partner is the East Latvian Centre for Creative Services. The aim of the project is to create better employment opportunities for creative industries by strengthening the knowledge of entrepreneurs and craftspeople about e-commerce and introducing advanced IT technologies. During the project, 30 creative industries – artists, craftspeople, designers – learnt step by step how to create an e-business.
