Kaunas University of Technology together with foreign partners is implementing the EU-funded project “SusRur – Towards SUStainability and resilient scenarios for tourism SMEs in RUral & Remote Areas”.

Applications are invited for the SUSRUR project open call OC#3 COLLABORATE, which is open to businesses (SMEs – small and medium-sized enterprises) in the tourism sector from five rural and remote areas in Europe. The project involves regions from 5 countries: Asturia (Spain); West Macedonia (Greece); Hargita (Romania); Utena County (Lithuania); Steirisches Vulkanland (Austria).

Open Call #3 aims to develop management skills and capacities to improve the performance of SMEs in the digital and sustainable transformation.

The grant is awarded to up to 50 tourism SMEs that aim to implement sustainable and innovative practices in their tourism business. Each selected participant can receive a grant of €6,000 to be used to improve the sustainability of their business by choosing two consultancy services from the following:

  1. Digital marketing plan;
  2. Sustainability Action Plan;
  3. Circular economy technologies and innovation in rural tourism SMEs;
  4. Clean energy technologies and innovation in rural tourism SMEs;
  5. Digitalisation technologies and innovation in rural tourism SMEs (excluding digital marketing).

The deadline for applications is 12 February 2025 at 17:00 (CET) (18:00 Lithuanian time).
